In 1991, a group of concerned individuals representing corporations, unions, and federal and provincial governments flew to Germany to tour facilities and meet with senior government and rehabilitation officials. They wanted to view the practical elements of Germany’s unique combination of legislation and support programs aimed at integrating persons with disabilities into working life. The outcome of the study tour and further research by the participants culminated in a series of recommendations for Canadian workplaces that are captured in this publication.
