Organizational Factors Associated with Effective DM Programs

With the implementation of Accessibility legislation at the Federal and many provincial levels, as well as a significant focus on ESG and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategies, many public and private sector organizations are motivated to respond to these challenges in many different ways.

This research set out to better understand the motivational factors driving an organization's Disability Management program implementation strategies, policies and practices.

Specifically, the research set out to identify:
• why do organizations embrace effective RTW / DM programs,
• what role do significant enforcement measures play in creating effective RTW / DM programs, and
• what needs to happen to make disability advocacy across the Human Resources / Labour Relations (HR/LR) community common place.

A summary of the conclusions to these questions is also provided.
