Illness and Family Emergencies

Inability to complete due to illness or injury

If, as a result of an illness or injury, a participant cannot complete a module, they should advise their instructor and fax or mail a note from their doctor to either of the addresses listed below no later than three weeks following the last day of module activities.

The participant will be rescheduled in a later module or modules or, if the doctor's note indicates that the person will not be able to complete the modules within the next twelve months, enrollment fees will be refunded.

There is an expectation that in most cases, participants will have a perspective on their own health conditions and if more than two health-related cancellations occur within a year, they will be treated as regular cancellations.

Inability to complete due to family emergencies

Participants who experience a significant family emergency (for example, death of a spouse, child or parent; job loss; in-home robbery), which occurs while participating in a module, should relay this in writing either by email to [email protected] or by fax to either of the fax numbers shown below, at the latest, within three weeks of the end of module activities. In this situation, if the participant is not able to complete the module, they will be re-enrolled in a later module. If more than two family emergencies occur within a year, they will be treated as normal cancellations.
